Pony Riding Tale![]() The Viking king Horda-Knut got up in the morning, saddled his pony and forgot his Viking sword. But the Valkyrie of Norse god Thor [1] stood in the grassy path on the Faroe Isles to oppose that fatal forgetting. When the pony saw the Valkyrie of Thor standing in the road with a drawn sword in her hand, she turned off the road into a field. Horda-Knut beat him to get her back on the road. Then the Valkyrie of Thor stood in a narrow path between two tiny orchands that were there, with walls on both sides. When the pony saw the Valkyrie of Thor, she pressed close to the wall, crushing Horda-Knut's foot against it. So he beat his Viking pony again. Then the Valkyrie of Thor moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left. When the pony saw the Valkyrie of Thor, she lay down under Horda-Knut. He got very angry and beat the animal with his staff. Then Thor opened the pony's mouth, and she said to Horda-Knut, "Tell me, whatever have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?" Horda-Knut answered the pony, "You have made a fool of me! That's why." The pony said to Horda-Knut, "Am I not your own pony, which you have always ridden to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing silly things to you before?" "No," he said. Then Thor opened Horda-Knut's eyes, and he saw the Valkyrie of Thor standing in the road with her glimmering sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell face down. The Valkyrie of Thor asked him, "Why have you beaten your pony these three times? I've come here to oppose you because your going out was reckless in my sight. The pony saw me and turned away from me these three times. If she hadn't turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared her." This is essentially the story of Balaam and his donkey om the Bible [Cf. Numbers 22; 20-33]. The animal:
Many Animals Are Treated HarshlyIn old fairy tales people became animals, and animals could become men if some hard-boiled curse was lifted. Lifting a curse takes what it takes. From the crew of Ulysses, some were bewitched and turned into pigs, Circe's herd - later the switch was made back again. Be taught a lot against unsound repression and the like: There are biological limits for what the donkey (pony, life energy) inside may carry on with. Literature Bhb: Buzan, Tony. Bruk hodet bedre.
