Lahiri Baba's wisdom is considered -
|
Shyama Charan Lahiri, or Lahiri Mahasaya (1828-1895), initiated many thousand persons
discreetly in higher yoga, and made facets of such yoga publicly known too. He
was the disciple of Mahavatar Babaji and the guru of Sri Yukteswar (1855-1936).

Supporting "well medleys" are presupposed
throughout:
THE ORIGINAL commentaries were written by Lahiri Baba and published in 1893 by Panchanan
Bhattacharya (see p. 6).
Here they are modified as Self-teachings. There is room for it in Lahiri's texts. See what
we got:
1. Of the Self
The Lord of this world is pure [Pure Stuff; i.e., Essence], and stays in the thousands
petals of akshara (on the top of the head) - those are the letters of eternity The
core of man (also called the atom, anu) is a part of the ultimate Self (God, Brahman)
The Breath of life or secret wind of life (Pranabayu) is one of vitality. [P. 9; 7; 7]
The inner Self and supreme Self is your Master (Paramatman) During kriya practice
whatever form is formed is called Sri, inner Beauty. [Cf. p. 9; 7] (2)
2. Products of OM bow to the Self inside
Sages bow spontaneously to themselves. [Cf. p. 7]
In the vast kutastha is the supreme Person, the Self's form The physical body is the
product of the sound of OM (Aum). [Cf. p. 8; and p 7] (4)
3. Self-seeing reaches far -

automatically to Oneself OM is the essence. [Cf. p. 8; 8; 7]
The selves of Maya is the ultimate Self (Purna Brahman). [Cf. p. 9]

Inspiration from Lahiri Baba's Guru Gita
Commentary
Not a few religions tell of a great contentment to get attuned to or to work to attain.
By hearing and attuning to a particular sound and the area between the eyebrows, this
contentment may be had by stages. It comes by diving into a sesame seed -

Hear OM in the essential calmness

demoniac Do not give the liberating message to any emotionalist or "worshipper of
Vishnu". [Cf. v. 109; 107]

Self there is nothing to experience. [Cf. v. 34; 37]

eternal life" - truth and consciousness - can be said to wear white clothes (exist in the
white inner Light). #56; 50-52; 50-52]
Many religions
tell of a great contentment

(wealth here and beyond), kama (lust, joy), and moksha (freedom). [Cf. v. 108; 92]
"All those who do not hold onto the Self dwell in darkness." [V. 26] (6)
The steps up are:
- Hear OM in the essential calmness
- Many religions tell of a great contentment to attune oneself to or link up with.
Through yoga self-help you can do it, many are eager to tell.
- The Self as a tunnel (a well) remains on high.
Hear OM by being shown how to do it. Attune yourself to it, and get more content
through it. Then, by degrees you may see the third eye and notice it is a tunnel to plumb as
you care.
