Painting of Ramakrishna (1836-86) |
Ramakrishna about those who came to him: "I place before them the ideal of a wet-nurse as teaching them how to live in this world." (Chap. 8) A wet nurse is woman hired to feed another woman's baby with her own breast milk, so the ideal was to nourish all right with less attachment than a mother may develop. |
