12 Upanishads Translated by Max Müller Upanishads (Upanisads) teach about Self-realisation and the innermost Reality. There are over one hundred canonical Upanishads. F. Max Müller translated twelve of them. In the following, 'chapter' often replaces adhyaya, and 'section' replaces other Sanskrit terms according to: "(Part,) chapter, section".
