Astrosophy and Rudolf Steiner

'Astrosophy' comes from the Greek astron, star, and sophia, skill, wisdom, from sophos, wise.

Rudolf Steiner's astrosophy emphasises soul purpose and connection to the opportunities the heavens offer during your life that can be affected by stars and clusters of stars, including star signs. Sidereal astrology is applied to think about things. However, there are particular difficulties in using sidereal astrology.

(WP, "Sidereal astrology")

Rudolf Steiner, originator of Waldorf education, accepts a modified form of astrology, one where constellations of stars influence us but do not control human destiny. Steiner recognises the importance of karma and reincarnation and the human power to affect one's own destiny.

He says there is a connection between stars and human beings, but rejects the notion that stars and planets determine our lives and behaviour - do not control human destiny. - Cf- Margaret Jonas, in Steiner 2009, 2-3.
