The word 'astrology' has Greek roots: astr, star, and the ending -logi, -(o)logy. The ending represents a 'subject of study'. Accordingly, astrology involves a study of stars (and planets, and the moon) and their purported influence on people's lives. It seeks purposes in life through mapped markers and patterns, and serves to "catch opportunities somehow" too.
