Mahayana Buddhism "Ducks need not be called to lotus ponds; They gather there naturally," holds Sakya Pandita in "Ordinary Wisdom." (See Davenport et al. 2000, 122). Mahayana, the 'Great Vehicle', is one of two major "ponds" of Buddhism, and rooted in the earliest teachings of Buddhism. It is the most followed form of Buddhism today.
