Shyama Charan Lahiri (1828-95) is best known as Lahiri Mahasaya, also Lahiri Baba. He is known for simplifying kriya yoga and spreading it. A householder who worked as an accountant, he was the guru of Yukteswar, who in turn was the guru of Yogananda. He gave commentaries to 26 works in the light of kriya yoga. Extracts are found here.
